Who is eligible to join Explorer PTO?
Explorer PTO membership is open to all Parents, Teachers, and Community teachers who reside in the Alvin ISD region.
How do I join Explorer PTO?
Joining is simple and easy. Fill out the Explorer PTO membership form online or bring a paper copy to the next meeting. The last step is to pay the annual membership dues of $5.00 per member. We can't wait to have you on board.
I have a great idea for a school fundraiser. Who should I talk to?
We love to hear input from our members. If you have an idea for a fundraiser, then click on the Proposal tab in the menu and fill out a Fundraiser Proposal Form. If submitted 2 weeks before the next General Body meeting, you will have an opportunity to present it to the membership for approval.
I would like the PTO to sponsor an event for the school. Who do I talk to about this?
The Explorer PTO was created to help strengthen the overall educational experience at Meridiana Elementary. If there is an event you would like to request the PTO to participate in, then then click on the Proposal tab in the menu and fill out a Funds Request Form. If submitted 2 weeks before the next General Body meeting, you will have an opportunity to present it to the membership for approval.
I would like to make a donation to the Explorer PTO. Who do I give the funds to? Is it the donation tax deductible?
To make a donation to the Explorer PTO, please send us a message via the Contact Us page. A board member will contact will reach out to you with further details. Explorer PTO is a 501(c)(3) organization. All donations are tax deductible.
I would like step up an play a bigger role in the PTO, but do not have the time to become an officer. What options are available to me?
We appreciate the time our members are able to volunteer with the PTO. There are several committees that you can join which will allow you to become more active within the PTO. If your schedule allows, there are opportunities to assume a greater role as a committee chairperson. Contact us to discover more opportunities
I would like run for an open board position. What must I do to be eligible?
To be eligible to run for office, you need to be a current Explorer PTO member in good standing. You can submit your name as a candidate for office at the appointed time before the yearly elections. Please read a copy of the Explorer PTO bylaws for additional requirements related to certain office positions.
